Paris Street Photography Workshops

These workshops aren’t about checking off landmarks or mastering technique.
They’re about learning how to see — and noticing what draws your attention when no one is telling you where to look.

What holds your attention is rarely accidental. The moments you wait for, the details you notice, the things you ignore — all of it shows up in the photographs you make. Over time, the work becomes a kind of mirror.

We’ll walk Paris slowly, paying attention to light, gesture, timing, and human presence.

Some of the learning happens together, through conversation and image review. Some of it happens quietly, on your own, in the street.

This workshop is for photographers who want more than stronger images.
It’s for those who want a deeper relationship with their work — and with themselves.

Below you’ll find upcoming Paris workshops, organized by season. Each group is small. Each experience is shaped by the people who show up.

See Paris. See Yourself.

A Five-Day Immersive Workshop with Keith Pitts

“When the world asks, ‘what was it like?’ Only the photographer can say, ‘See!’” — Mark Denman"

Paris is a city that has inspired generations of photographers—not just for its beauty, but for its endless stories.

The real magic of street photography isn’t just in the images you make, but in the way you learn to see...

Street photography is improvisation. It’s visual anthropology. It’s a practice in curiosity, presence, and self-discovery.

“This was my first workshop and I have to say my favorite aspect was hanging out with such great creative people, geeking out on our shared love of photography. Again the review and critique time was very helpful to see how my fellow classmates were looking at many of the same places, people and moments and capturing the various elements in different ways to create such different visual images. I really enjoyed the workshop and would highly recommend it to others”.

What to Expect

People dancing in front of the Eiffel Tower in Paris, France as seen from the ground level, with some sitting around and others dancing, in a black and white photo.
A woman riding a bicycle along a cobblestone street in an urban area with buildings, parked motorcycles, and pedestrians.

For five days, we’ll wander Paris together—not as tourists, but as explorers...

You’ll learn to trust your instincts, to notice what others miss, and to create photographs that are honest reflections of your experience.

Who Is This For?

This workshop is for anyone who senses there’s more to photography—and to travel—than just ticking off sights or chasing perfect images...

Whether this is a long-awaited treat or a spontaneous adventure, you belong here. The street is for everyone willing to look.

The Main Goal

The main goal of this Paris workshop is to immerse you in the city’s rhythm and help you create photographs that are as honest and alive as the streets themselves.

It’s about learning to see Paris—not just as a backdrop, but as a living, breathing story—and to capture the fleeting moments that reveal both the city’s soul and your own.

Street photography, at its best, is a practice in curiosity, presence, and self-discovery—and Paris is the perfect place to begin.

You’ll sharpen your eye, deepen your curiosity, and discover new ways of connecting—with strangers, with fellow photographers, and with yourself.

By the end, you’ll leave with a portfolio of images that feel personal and true, and a way of seeing that will stay with you long after you’ve left Paris behind.

Workshop Activities:

Daily gatherings for coffee, conversation, and setting intentions

  • Small, intimate group sessions

  • Guided walks through Paris’s most evocative neighborhoods

  • Group reviews and photo critiques

  • Evenings spent sharing stories

  • A final group slideshow

from Taunia…workshop attendee: “I loved the convivial atmosphere, the informal feel, that it encouraged exploration; seeing others in action on the street and seeing each other's chosen pics for the day was eye opening; appreciated the tips on software, camera settings, etc; the highlight for me was the group discussion and critique of photo selections, which did not feel rushed but carefully considered (a huge plus); the slideshow takeaway is a very nice feel-good moment for the final evening”.
